Barsha Heights (Tecom) is a mixed-use district located right off Sheikh Zayed Road in between The Greens and Barsha. It was formerly known as TECOM Area C to distinguish it from Dubai Media City (Area A), Dubai Internet City (Area B) and Knowledge Village (Area D).
The district was originally planned to be an extension of the business parks mentioned above, however, in 2005/06, the master developer sold plots to sub-developers to build residential and commercial towers.
As of Q2 2014, most of the projects in Barsha Heights (Tecom) are complete. The developments consist predominantly of hotels and hotel serviced apartments. There are a number of office towers and a handful of residential buildings. Only a few buildings in this district are freehold.
